Somerford Youth and Community Centre

Christchurch Open Awards Centre (COAC) registered as a charity in May 2016. Its sole purpose was to take on the ownership of Somerford Youth Club which was being handed over to the community by Dorset County Council in September 2016 as part of its strategic funding review.

As the new owners of the centre COAC set about developing the centre into a new community hub as well as continuing the existing youth club and so the new Somerford Youth and Community Centre (SYCC) began.
